Learning Support at Luckley

Girls with mild learning difficulties are welcomed at Luckley.  We are particularly able to support students with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Provision at Luckley includes spelling and reading clubs at lunchtime and after school for Year 7 and 8 pupils.  We also provide 1:1 support lessons.

Spelling and reading assessments are taken by all students on entry and action is taken according to results and past history of the individual. For extra time to be given in exams, the student must have an educational psychologist's report which recommends the concession.  We are able to organise for a student to be assessed at school.

Parents are encouraged to communicate any concerns about progress and staff are happy to meet with parents when necessary.  Regular pastoral meetings are held so that staff teaching each year group can raise concerns and discuss strategies for helping individual pupils.
