Boarders celebrate Chinese New Year |
Chinese New Year occurs in the early months of our calendar year. This year it fell on January 23rd, marking the first of 15 days of celebration and the start of the Year of the Dragon. In order to celebrate this occasion, the boarders were treated to a delicious Chinese meal. A selection of starters including prawn crackers, spring rolls and various other nibbles were served to begin. This was followed by chicken noodles, stir-fry and egg-fried rice, with a coconut mousse for dessert. A fruity cocktail accompanied the meal. Everybody had an insight into their future as Miss Balsdon handed out fortune cookies. The dining hall looked lovely and we all appreciated the effort that Carmen and some of the sixth form girls put into making table decorations and place settings. |
