Assessing The Situation In Studland

While most of the UK was awash with heavy rain students found a piece of sunshine at the coast for their geography field trip. It was so warm the group even paddled in the sea! The group of 23 GCSE students embarked on a three day trip which included a visit to the Studland National Trust Nature Reserve, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The focus for the trip was to assess of the impact of tourism on the area. The girls collected data from various sources during their stay including surveys of visitors and local people, environmental research and an exploration of costal management. The group enjoyed their time at the glorious sandy beaches which stretch for three miles and provides a haven for rare birds and other native wildlife. The students will be using their finding to compile their coursework for their geography GCSE. On their way home to Wokingham the group visited Poole to see the exclusive properties at the Sandbanks, now said to be one of the most expensive places in the world to purchase property.
