Welcome to the Association of the Friends of Luckley-Oakfield School (AFLOS). 

All parents, guardians and staff are automatically members of AFLOS

AFLOS and Our Purpose

We are similar to a PTA, but with no influence or control regarding administration of the school. We are a committee consisting of parents, the head and deputy head girls, head teacher, bursar and teaching staff who aim to:

• enrich the social lives of the girls by providing extra curricular activities

• enhance the School community spirit amongst parents

• fund raise to facilitate the above and accelerate the purchase of equipment and amenities for the school.

We are always very happy to welcome new members, even for an hour or two a term, so please help as and when you can. 

You can help by:

• joining the committee

• helping organise events

• helping on the day of events

• giving us feedback

• making suggestions for activities.

AFLOS Objectives and Events 2012-13

Each year we aim to raise in excess of £5,000 towards major items for the school. As in previous years, we are again embarking on a major fundraising commitment for the coming year and are well on the way to achieving our aims of:

• providing soft furnishings and iPOD docking station for the new year 11 common room

• purchasing  new equipment for the Sports department.

As well as half termly tuck sales, we aim to host a fund raising event each term for parents and

 friends.This years planned events include:

•  a Bonfire and Fireworks Night

•  a Christmas Fair

•  a Quiz Night
  

Recent AFLOS Purchases and Events

Over the past few years, we have matched the schools contribution towards a new minibus and new ICT equipment. We also gave a large donation to the art extension and library. In addition to this we have purchased electronic equipment, lighting and sound for the drama department, and picnic tables for everyone to enjoy.

Our most recent purchases are a baby grand piano, new fitness equipment, a new BBQ and iPod docking station for our gym.
