Open Mornings and VisitsAt Luckley we believe that a personal visit to meet our pupils and staff is invaluable for prospective families. We hold Open Mornings each term. Our Saturday Open Morning in the Autumn Term is especially popular, providing families with an opportunity to meet our academic staff, for girls to participate in a number of activities and for guests to hear a speech by the Headmistress. Individual AppointmentsLuckley-Oakfield welcomes families for both individual and small group appointments. A typical visit will include a meeting with the Headmistress, an individual school tour, with a pupil as your guide and a discussion with the Registrar and / or Assistant Head to answer any questions you might have following your tour. Daughters are welcome to accompany parents and guardians. Invitation Taster Days - a chance to experience life at LuckleyYear 5 Taster DayOur annual Invitation Day is a must for every Year 5 girl. It is a whole day event held in the summer term. Throughout the day the visiting girls enjoy a wide variety of activities from across the curriculum, as well as having a delicious summer lunch and watching the School Drama Production. Thursday 27 June or Tuesday 2 July 2013 Year 7 Taster DayOur Year 7 Taster Day is an academic day covering the core subjects, but will follow an interesting and fun-filled theme of “Forensics and Code Breaking”. The aim is for prospective pupils to spend the day with our Year 7 girls, make new friends, enjoy the challenge of new and exciting activities, and experience a taste of life as a ‘Luckley girl’. There are three main requirements for admission into Luckley: an entrance examination, an interview and a confidential report from your daughter’s current school. This report is usually requested before girls sit their entrance papers. Interviews and entrance examinations are held in January. As part of the interview process girls are invited to complete a personal ‘Story Board’ to demonstrate their hobbies, achievements and interests. Details of our entrance examination will be sent to you in the autumn term prior to admission. The examination consists of papers in English, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning. We aim to advise you whether a place is to be offered within 2-3 weeks of the examination. Acceptance of a PlaceWhen you wish to confirm your daughter's offer of a place at Luckley, you should return your Acceptance Form. At this stage, completion of the form and payment of a deposit will ensure a place is reserved for her. Choosing the right school for your daughter is a very important decision, with many factors to take into consideration. What the school is able to offer your daughter and assurance that she will be happy and able to thrive are likely to be high on your agenda. We aim to help you through the whole process, making it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
Your daughter can be registered with Luckley at any time, however, places are limited, so early registration is advised. A Registration Form is included with our prospectus pack or can be downloaded from the website and should be returned with the registration fee of £75. This enables us to keep in regular contact with you regarding school news, events and developments as well as to advise you of the next steps to consider at the appropriate time.
